ABOUT THE ARTIST
Lindsey Nolan was born and raised on Australia's Gold Coast. The 20 year olds inspiration for music stemmed from her Mother’s love for music. Allowing her to grow into an eclectic musical palette, listening to artists such as, Billy Joel, Fleetwood Mac, Simon and Garfunkel, Peter Gabriel andCrowed House to name but a few.
These artists along with many others have been instrumental in guiding her towards her desire to make her own distinctive style described best as having an eclectic array of smooth and easy listening sounds, flowing between the genres of indie rock, pop, with folk, rhythm and soul undertones.
She wrote her first single 'Don't Play With Guns' in 2014, which with the help of her school's Musical Director Charlotte Lush and Sydney Producer Roger Lock she was able to record the track along with a second titled 'Home'. She would later have the opportunity to publish both tracks on iTunes in a collaborative album 'ALL AT SEA" in 2016. This is when Lindsey first partnered with 'Kids In Need Association"
Lindsey continues to work with 'Kids In Need Association' on the release of her first feature album "The Rabbit & The Tiger". Once again all profits and proceeds made are to be donated to the cause. Building on her stance of creating philanthropy through artistry. This new album explores a more mature side to Lindsey and she develops her writing and musical style.
THE RABBIT & THE TIGER
"This album was created through a process of healing. During 2017 I went down a self destructive path which ruined my relationships with a lot of close friends and family. The whole event left me with an overwhelming sense of isolation and self-depreaction. These songs to me were a way of processing all the chaos that I had entangled myself in.
Lindsey Nolan's debut album, "The Rabbit & The Tiger" is a compilation of highly emotive original works. Lindsey draws from her own experience of heartache and how it can come in many forms. This is heard best in the tracks, 'At Ease', 'Cast(away)' and more deeply in the title track 'The Rabbit & The Tiger'. She explores the idea that heartache doesn't just come from having your own heart broken but can come from breaking someone else's. "I let a lot of people down and treated them so poorly. I could see and feel what I was putting them through but felt no remorse at the time. It was only when I started writing these songs that I was able to realise how detrimental that was to my well being and also to theirs. Realising that broke me but in a weird way allowed me to begin mending those relationships."
Lindsey's debut album is lyrically brave and honest. It is a recognition of personal mistakes and past events of which she has overcome.
Lindsey Nolan's album "The Rabbit & The Tiger", is available on iTunes and Spotify now.
ALL AT SEA
"ALL AT SEA" was the first project recorded under the Lindisfarne Recording Studio Label. It is a contemporary, modern album reflective of the sounds of today’s youth. What makes it extraordinary is that it was developed by the students and staff of Lindisfarne in support of the local Kids In Need Association. This was the starting point for Lindsey's career in music and songwriting. It was the opportunities given to her through the school and studio that allowed her writing to mature and develop into the masterful writing that can be heard in her Debut Album "The Rabbit & The Tiger". "ALL AT SEA" features two of Lindsey's original works, "Home" and "Don't Play With Guns". Since then both songs have been re-worked by Lindsey and are now available to listen to on her debut album.
